KENT COUNTY, Mich. — There were multiple car crashes and about 1,500 customers without power following Michigan's first winter storm of the season. Despite the limited amount of snow accumulation, the impacts of the winter weather were still felt across the region.
Early Sunday morning, the Michigan Department of Transportation reported a crash on 28th Street just after Burlingame Avenue that resulted in the the road being closed for about a half an hour between 1 a.m. and 1:30 a.m.
Hours later, a crash on northbound US-131 just after Wealthy Street blocked the left lane for a short period of time around 2:30 a.m.
Then at 7:50 a.m., MDOT reported a crash on westbound I-96 just after the Leonard street exit, which blocked the left lane.
