LANSING, Mich. — Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel is pushing back against the Trump Administration's move to block the disbursement of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) funds to beneficiaries, calling the move "despicable."

Just as Michiganders started to receive disbursements of their November SNAP benefits, the Supreme Court of the United States ordered those food aid payments blocked.

SNAP benefits have been in limbo as the federal government continues to be shut down. Over the last several days, judges have ordered those SNAP benefits to be released to beneficiaries, only to have those orders challenged and later blocked by the Supreme Court.
