PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A nice cool start to our morning, but get ready for a big warm-up later today.

Temperatures are expected to warm up again today as a ridge of high pressure begins to build over our state.

Today’s high will be 89 degrees, which would be a new record. The old record is 88, set back in 2005.

The heat is going to continue thru Monday but cool down slightly on Veterans Day.

On Tuesday, we are expecting a high of 86 degrees, and if you’re heading out to the parade, temperatures will be comfortable on Tuesday with temps in the mid-70s.

We are watching a low-pressure system off the coast of California that will bring rain and snow to that area later in the week.

This low could push in some rain here in the valley as well, starting on Friday.
