TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) -- A 19-year-old woman died after she was struck crossing Jack Warner Parkway before the LSU-Alabama football game Saturday, according to the Tuscaloosa Police Department.
The Tallapoosa County woman was crossing the parkway around 4:15 p.m. at the Queen City Avenue intersection when a car traveling westbound hit her. The woman was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
The TPD stated the driver, a 40-year-old Tuscaloosa woman, stopped her car nearby where the pedestrian was hit and spoke with officers. The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit started investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatality.
