LYNNVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - The Lynnville Fire and Police Departments are hosting a special event to help an Evansville Police officer shot in the line of duty.

The Benefit Dinner for Officer Sam Taylor will be held on Saturday, November 22 at the Lynnville Fire Station on State Road 68 from 4 to 7 p.m.

Officials say every dollar raised from the donation-based meal and auction will go directly to Officer Taylor and his family to help cover medical costs and daily living expenses during his recovery .

Organizers are accepting donations for the auction until November 21, and will accept monetary donations to offset the dinner cost.
