El Paso police detectives are investigating a homicide after a man died at a hospital three weeks after he was found with a head injury and unconscious at the Jack in the Box restaurant in Fox Plaza, officials said.

The death of Pedro Garcia, 53, a Central-area resident, is being investigated as a murder, a news release by police spokesman Officer Adrian Cisneros stated. The Crimes Against Persons Unit was notified that Garcia died at a hospital on Thursday, Nov. 6.

Garcia was found critically injured at 10:45 p.m. on Oct. 15 when officers responded to a call of a possible shooting at the Jack in the Box restaurant, 5519 Alameda Ave., in the Fox Plaza shopping center, police reported.

Garcia was found on the ground, unconscious with a serious injury to his forehead, police stated. G
