A 19-year-old Allentown man was found dead inside a Catasauqua home after being shot, the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office announced on Sunday, Nov. 9.
The man was pronounced dead at 5:46 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8, at the scene inside a home on the 200 block of Edward Lane in Catasauqua, according to Coroner Daniel A. Buglio. His death has been ruled a homicide following a gunshot injury, Buglio said in the release.
An autopsy and radiology are scheduled to be completed at the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office & Forensics Center on Monday, Nov. 10.
The Catasauqua Police Department, Lehigh County Homicide Task Force, and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office are investigating, with assistance from the Pennsylvania State Police Bethlehem Station and the North Catasauqua Police Department, authorities said.
The victim’s name has been confirmed, and his family has been notified. However, his identity will not be released until the autopsy is completed to allow time for the family to grieve privately, according to Buglio.
