A Lancaster woman was killed when her car slammed into a parked construction truck at high speed in Lower Oxford Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Sunday, Nov. 9.
Anya Madison, 19, was traveling eastbound on Baltimore Pike at approximately 80 miles per hour—well above the 45 mph speed limit—when she veered off the roadway near Reedville Road around 11:49 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1, according to investigators.
Her 2017 Nissan Sentra crossed into the westbound lane and left the road, striking a parked 2015 Kenworth construction vehicle that was about 30 feet off the highway in a driveway at 1871 Baltimore Pike. The impact caused Madison’s car to rotate roughly 130 degrees before coming to a stop, troopers detailed.
Madison suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Chester County Coroner’s Office. She was not wearing a seatbelt, police said.
Union Fire Company of Oxford, Union EMS, Chester County Medic 94, and Chews Towing responded and assisted at the scene.
