Boston Bruins head coach Marco Sturm was pleased with his team’s effort in their 5-3 road win over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday.
The Bruins entered the game shorthanded as star defenseman Charlie McAvoy was out of the lineup due to personal matters, while top-six forward Casey Mittelstadt was out due to an injury.
Despite being without two impact players, Boston played well from start to finish en route to a 5-3 win, which impressed Sturm.
“It feels good coming to Toronto, it is always not easy, especially when you are missing a few guys too,” Sturm said , as seen on NESN’s postgame coverage. “But we kind of stuck with our game and just like I told the guys, for me it was a very impressive win. The way we played five-on-five, the way we finished the game, it was great to see.”
