APOPKA, Fla. – A deadly crash involving a pick-up truck in Apopka involved only teenagers, leaving three dead and three others seriously injured, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, troopers responded near the intersection of Welch Road and Wekiwa Drive.
According to an FHP crash report, a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 17-year-old male lost control while negotiating a curve. The vehicle ran off the road, struck a tree, and overturned.
Among those in the vehicle were six teenage males, all from Apopka. Three teens — a 17-year-old male passenger, a 17-year-old male passenger, and a 13-year-old male passenger — were pronounced dead, two at the scene and one after being transported to a hospital, troopers said.
