SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) -The Springfield Veterans Day Parade returned for a second year to honor those who served.

The parade was hosted by Ozarks Elder Law, which also hosted last year’s parade. The law firm says it’s important for these events to take place in Springfield.

“As Americans, we should be so appreciative for the people who sacrificed their safety for our freedom,“ said Melanie Smith with Ozarks Elder Law. ”(It’s important to) support our veterans and say thank you to people who are serving and keeping us free."

In 2024, returning the parade to Springfield after a seven-year hiatus , the law firm said funding was one of the causes for its absence.
