STAMFORD, Conn. — A 54-year-old Stamford resident died after being hit by a car late Saturday night, according to the city's police department.
The crash happened around 10:30 p.m. near 996 High Ridge Road.
According to police, a 30-year-old Stamford resident was driving a 2016 Nissan Altima, heading south, when it hit the pedestrian, who was crossing the road.
There are no marked crosswalks in that area, according to police.
The pedestrian was then taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died early Sunday morning. Their name has not yet been released while family members are being notified.
Police said the driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
