A snow squall watch has been issued for Sarnia, Petrolia and Lambton County.
Environment Canada said snow squalls were possible late Sunday night through Tuesday morning with heavy lake effect snow of 15 to 30 cm possible, with even more in some locations.
“Prepare for the possibility of quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions,” it said.
A weather statement added that snowfall of two to five cm was likely Sunday and continuing into the evening, making travel hazardous and potentially reducing visibility to zero at times.
“The snow is falling and so should your speed,” Sgt. Ed Sanchuk, with West Region OPP, said Sunday in a social media post.
With the first snowfall of the season, the OPP urged residents of the region in a separate post to drive according to the conditions
