Pete Davidson is ready to give fatherhood all he’s got.

The Saturday Night Live alum—who is expecting his first baby with pregnant girlfriend Elsie Hewitt —made a surprise return to the NBC sketch comedy series Nov. 8, where he joked about how gearing up to be a dad has already impacted his lifestyle.

During the Weekend Update segment, Pete joined Colin Jost to discuss a New York Times article about the decommissioned Staten Island Ferry they purchased together in 2022 , though he admitted he hadn’t read the story firsthand.

“In case you’re wondering why I had to do a show in Saudi Arabia, we’re losing millions on this ferry,” Pete told the audience. “I assume that’s what the article says. I can’t spend $5 on a paywall when I got a kid on the way.”
