FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - Ron Dailey, the hunter who went missing in the Fresno County mountains for nearly three weeks, says he wasn't lost, but needed to be found - how did he do it? Prayers, his wife, and creative thinking.
"I've been up to the top of Swamp Road probably a dozen times," he told Fresno County Sheriff's Office's Public Information Officer, Tony Botti, during a recent interview. "I wasn't lost, but… I couldn't get out. But I never really considered myself lost. I just knew that I was in trouble because nobody knew where I was."
Dailey left for his day trip on Oct. 13, taking a familiar route he had no concerns about.
Around noon, he confirmed he was still on the right path, so he took a break for a snack - but then he backed up.
