Motherwell manager Jens Berthel Askou denied his side were under pressure to display some resolve in their stalemate with Aberdeen after last weekend’s 4-1 League Cup semi-final defeat at the hands of St Mirren. ‌

The Steelmen remain in the top half of the table thanks to a hard-fought draw at Pittodrie, banishing a horror semi-final loss to St Mirren, but it took a moment of genius from Callum Slattery and a slumbering Dons defence to salvage a point against an Aberdeen side fresh off a European jaunt to Cyprus. ‌

The Steelmen displayed their usual brand of possession football, but found it difficult to break down a diligent Pittodrie defence.
