The holidays have arrived early in Santa Monica as the city’s beloved Ice Rink at Santa Monica opens for its 17th season.

Located in the heart of downtown, the 8,000-square-foot outdoor rink lets visitors skate under the California sun by day and the twinkling stars by night. The rink is open daily from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. through Jan. 19, 2026.

Skating sessions cost $20 plus tax and include skate rentals. For beginners, polar bear skate trainers are available for extra stability on the ice, and professional instructors offer 20-minute lessons for $45.
