PEARL, Miss. - The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) issued a warning Sunday for Mississippians to prepare before the first freeze of the season hits early this week.
"The National Weather Service is forecasting freezing temperatures Sunday night into Monday morning, with a significant freeze Monday night into Tuesday morning," MEMA said. "With temperatures dropping below freezing for much of Mississippi, now is a good time to prepare for the winter months ahead."
The agency offered tips on how citizens can prepare their homes and cars, including checklists:

Store a good supply of dry, seasoned wood for your fireplace or wood-burning stove.
