LIVE OAK, Fla. (WCTV) - One Suwannee County nonprofit needs donations to help make sure children have presents this Christmas.

“No child should wake up wondering what they did wrong and why they didn’t get gifts,” Kelli Quincy said. She is the founder of Helping Hearts of Suwannee County, a nonprofit that sponsors a toy drive every holiday season.

The organization is in its 12th year of the drive, and this year, Quincy said they anticipate helping more children than normal. Typically, she said they help about 130 kids, but that number is expected to be around 300 this year.

“With the government shutdown, there’s a lot more people in need this year,” Quincy said. “People not only have to worry about feeding their families daily and getting Christmas dinner, too. Now, they have kids that
