LUBBOCK, Texas -- Following their monumental 29-7 win over BYU this weekend, Texas Tech continued to climb in both major college football polls.
The Red Raiders moved up one spot to No. 8 in the Associated Press and AFCA/USA Today Coaches polls. Entering the week, BYU held the No. 8 ranking and slid down to No. 12 after Saturday's blowout loss. Elsewhere in the Big 12, Utah is slotted at No. 15 and Cincinnati rounds out the conference at No. 22.
It is important to note that neither of these polls contribute to the College Football Playoff rankings, which made its debut this past Tuesday. In the initial reveal, Texas Tech was ranked for the first time in program and checked in at No. 8.
