NICHOLAS COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - One miner is still missing from the Rolling Deep Mine in Nicholas County, West Virginia.

The mine crew was working when they struck a pocket of water that flooded the tunnels.

The accident happened Saturday afternoon.

The Nicholas County Commissioner, Garret Cole, said they believe the missing miner is three-fourths of a mile into the mine.

They’re also not sure how much water is in the mine.

Cole says the rescue updates are ongoing.

Mine rescue teams and emergency personnel were on scene today.
