PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- Northwoods Mall transformed into a pop culture hub this weekend for Quad Con, a free two-day event celebrating comics, toys, gaming, and fandom from across the region.
More than 95 vendors filled the mall’s walkways, showcasing everything from rare collectibles to Pokémon cards and custom artwork. Event Coordinator John Wells said the free setup inside the mall helps bring pop culture to a wider audience.
“The mall aspect really helps bring out people that wouldn’t otherwise be able to enjoy this because it’s free,” Wells said. “Sometimes people are just shopping, see the Ghostbusters or people dressed up, and realize how much fun this is. Then they show up again next time, it just keeps growing.”
Wells says the show continues to expand year after year, thanks to
