PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - The Trump administration on Sunday demanded states “undo” full SNAP benefits , now that the U.S. Supreme Court has stayed a previous ruling directing the government to pay.
This comes after a federal judge in Rhode Island on Thursday ordered the Trump administration to release full benefits, followed by the Oregon Department of Human Services working through the night to issue full November benefits by Friday morning.
On Sunday, Oregon leaders responded to Trump’s demand:
“We’ve heard some people are worried that the Supreme Court’s order means they can’t use their EBT cards or that their November SNAP benefits will be taken away. This is not true. Once benefits are on your Oregon EBT card, they belong to you! You can keep using them as usual.”
