WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. (WFSB) - The impacts of the historic 40-day government shutdown are affecting travelers at airports across the country, including Bradley International Airport.

Bradley is experiencing delays and cancellations as the flight issues continue to grow. The FAA has cut thousands of flights at 40 major airports as air traffic controllers call out sick after more than a month without pay.

Bradley is not among those 40 airports, but many travelers in Hartford are trying to reach those affected airports or return home from them. The Connecticut Airport Authority said it is monitoring the situation.

As of 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, there were still 22 delays and one cancellation for the remainder of the evening at Bradley.
