NEW ORLEANS — Jefferson Parish residents were in the dark Sunday night with more than 1,600 customers without power, according to Entergy's outage map.

At one point, 1,658 customers did not have electricity. The outage was reported in Kenner.

"We are aware of the outage in Jefferson Parish impacting approximately 1,600 customers," an Entergy spokesperson said in a statement "Crews are on the scene now working to make repairs as quickly and safely as possible. We anticipate the majority of customers will be restored shortly."

According to the outage map, power is expected to be restored by 9 p.m.
