Snow-joke! Cavalry FC drops CPL title in shocking weather conditions

Mother Nature chipped in on the heartbreak, too, with snow marring Sunday’s oh-so memorable match to declare a Canadian Premier League playoff champion in the nation’s capital.

Unfortunately, Calgary’s professional soccer side couldn’t weather the storms of a two-loss team and a winter wonderland to forge a second such celebration — and second consecutive — in its seven-year history, getting dumped by the home squad in an epic 2-1 CPL finale.

“It’s unbelievable, man,” Atlético goalkeeper Nathan Ingham told OneSoccer moments after the match. “It’s honestly unbelievable.”
