DENVER (KDVR) — The end of a 40-day government shutdown is reportedly set to end, with moderate Democrats agreeing to a tentative deal to reopen the government.
The shutdown has resulted in federal employees going weeks without pay, food assistance stopped, flights canceled and delayed across the nation and many federal employees have lost their jobs.
New Hampshire Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, New Hampshire Sen. Maggie Hassan and Maine Sen. Angus King said they would vote to reopen if the Senate passed three annual spending bills and extended the rest of the government funding until January.
Several Colorado Democrats remain in opposition to the government reopening, citing lingering concerns surrounding healthcare.
