INGLEWOOD, Calif. — Already thin in the secondary due to injuries, the Steelers lost cornerback Darius Slay for most of the game after he collided with teammate Kyle Dugger while making a tackle in the first half of Sunday night’s game against the Chargers.

Slay left the game in the second quarter and did not return. He was evaluated for a possible concussion. Veteran James Pierre took his place in the secondary. The Steelers suffered a second injury to a cornerback in the third quarter when Joey Porter Jr. exited the game, but he returned on the following series.

The Steelers do not have much depth at cornerback with Jalen Ramsey playing full time at free safety. He moved back to safety last week when the top three strong safeties could not play in the game.
