DARBOY, Wis. (WBAY) - Some veterans in the Fox Valley community are feeling fresh after a local business gave free haircuts on Sunday in darboy as a way to give back to those who fought for our freedoms.
“The Barbershop. A Hair Salon for Men” is usually closed on Sundays, but it was open on the Sunday before Veterans’ Day to give our brave men and women a free haircut.
It started with a conversation between veteran Ryan Lonergran and his barber, Ashley Dern.
“So, she’s been cutting my hair ever since I moved up here in 2017. We both just kind of said at the same time, ‘we should do something for veterans,” says Lonergran.
Now it’s a mission that serves more than 55 local heroes in the community.
“It’s a small way we can give back, but I do feel that it creates such an impact on them,”
