KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The names of 368 UT veterans who have passed away were read out loud at the UT Armed Forces Memorial on Sunday.
One new name, Staff Sergeant Ryan Christian Knauss, was added to the memorial on Sunday.
“Some survived and some did not. But we pay tribute to all of them,” said Ryan’s mom, Paula Knauss-Selph.
She said that UT’s ongoing investment into the ROTC is an honor for the students.
“To have an endowment for the University of Tennessee, for the ROTC to receive each year, is one of the most awesome honors that we can bring, not only to Ryan, who we lost as our son, but to all the men and women who step in his boots now and move forward for our nation,” Paula said.
