A person was killed in a shooting in Richmond Saturday night, police said.

Officers responded to the area of Potrero Avenue and Carlson Boulevard after receiving a report of at least one person shot just after 8 p.m., according to officials.

Authorities said responding officers found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite providing medical aid, the man was pronounced deceased at the scene, officials report.

Police said a second person arrived at a local trauma center seeking treatment for a gunshot wound a short time later. Officers went to the hospital and are investigating whether the person was involved in the same incident, according to authorities.

Police said no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
