While we do not believe that the four-day extension of time for mail-in ballots to arrive has been a danger to the security of voting in Ohio, we agree that closing that window is a reasonable step in election security.

The state Senate voted by party lines on Wednesday to require all mailed ballots to be received by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day.

This is the latest volley from Ohio Republicans addressing election security, an issue that is clouded on the Republican side by false claims of election rigging in the 2020 presidential election, but is nonetheless an issue of immense importance.
