Twenty years ago, I was CEO of the Jewish Federation of Greater Toledo. Along with CEO Robert Alexander and COO Larry Lev, of the YMCA, and a dedicated core of community lay leaders, we brought forth the partnership that resulted in the merger of the YMCAs of Toledo and the Jewish Community Center. That partnership, recognized nationally as an outstanding example of not-for-profit cooperative planning, resulted in the sale of parts of the Jewish Community Campus to the YMCA.
