Maple Leafs' Craig Berube bashes Toronto players after brutal loss to Hurricanes
The Toronto Maple Leafs have a lot of offensive firepower.
But too often this season, that hasn't been enough.
On Sunday night, the Leafs lost to the Carolina Hurricanes , 5-4.
Toronto has won eight games and lost seven, with one overtime loss.
After Sunday's loss, head coach Craig Berube had a blunt message.
"Pretty much the season is we don't value the defensive side of the puck enough," Berube told reporters .
He's not wrong.
The Leafs have now allowed 60 goals. That's the most allowed by any team in the entire Eastern Conference.
It's the second most allowed in the entire NHL. Only the St. Louis Blues, who are 5-8-3, have given up more at 63.
