Congress is one step closer to ending the government shutdown.
A group of eight Democratic senators reached a deal with Republicans on a new deal to eventually end the shutdown. That deal passed a procedural vote Sunday night, signaling it will pass and head to the House to try and end the shutdown.

Sen. John Fetterman said in a statement he joined the Republicans in voting for the resolution.
"After 40 days as a consistent voice against shutting our government down, I voted YES for the 15th time to REOPEN. I'm sorry to our military, SNAP recipients, gov workers, and Capitol Police who haven't been paid in weeks. It should never come to this. This was a failure," said Fetterman in a statement.
