The watch is in effect for Monday evening through Tuesday morning, with temperatures in the low 20s and 30s.
On the Northshore, people are getting ready for freezing conditions, making preparations to keep their families and their homes protected.
"We do put on some extra layers, we turn up our heater just a little bit,” said Ethan Frazier.
Frazier says he's prepared for a cold front heading to the Northshore, with low temperatures expected to dip below freezing in Slidell.
“When it gets down to these freezing temperatures, my dad and I cover our well,” said Frazier.
