PHOENIX — A day of travel turmoil left thousands of passengers reconfiguring plans at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
“I knew it might happen, you just wish it didn’t happen to you," Erwin Edwards, a passenger on a cancelled flight, said.
Some travelers were stopped in their tracks by cancelled flights.
“Once I got here, my phone reconnected to the internet, found out that my flight to LAX had been cancelled," Andrew Kearse, a traveler, said. "So, that was a little frustrating."
Other people remained hopeful that delays wouldn't get any longer.
“We’ve gotten two delays, so now 11:57 p.m. is our estimated departure time," Addison Oliver, a traveler, said.
Between flight status updates, these travelers had just learned that an end to the government shutdown is in sight.
