New Delhi: Toyota have revealed the ninth generation of the Hilux, marking one of the biggest transformative updates in the vehicle’s past 50-year history. Making a global debut of the Hilux, Toyota have brought the fabled pickup truck into the electrified mobility, coming with a wider range of powertrain choices than before.
In line with Toyota’s multi-pathway approach to carbon neutrality, the new Hilux range includes a battery electric vehicle (BEV) for the first time, a 48V hybrid version, ICE engines for select markets, and the brand even confirmed that a hydrogen fuel cell model will join the lineup in 2028.
This strategy will allow Toyota to tailor the Hilux according to the various market demands across the world. Hilux takes on a pathway which has already been treaded by Ford
