New Data Show That Only One in Four Los Angeles Renters Move Within Two Years, Far Below the National Rate

As renting continues to dominate the housing market across the United States, new data reveal that Los Angeles renters are less likely to relocate frequently than their counterparts in other major California cities.

A recent report found that 38% of renters nationwide are considered “hyper-mobile,” meaning they change homes in under two years. In Los Angeles, however, only about one in four renters, roughly 26%, move that often, showing the city’s relative stability amid a highly mobile renter population elsewhere.
