A report was issued from the National Weather Service on Monday at 2:56 a.m. for dense fog until 5 a.m. for Suffolk County.

"Patchy dense fog continues across eastern CT and Long Island. Visibilities may drop to a quarter of a mile or less. Visibilities likely improve as rain and a front move through from west to east. Motorists encountering fog early this morning should take extra caution. Use low beam headlights or fog lamps, and allow extra braking distance between other vehicles," states the weather service.
