An Edinburgh Royal Navy veteran has urged the public to use Armistice Day to remember the fallen heroes and their families.

Millions across the UK will fall silent at 11am on Tuesday, November 11, to honour those who died during World War I.

The annual Remembrance Day marks the ending of hostilities in Europe on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month of 1918, as well as World War II and conflicts since.
