Renowned poet, writer, and lyricist Ande Sri, a prominent voice behind the Telangana movement, passed away in the early hours of Monday. He is survived by four children.

Reports say the 64-year-old had been battling a serious illness in the days leading to his demise, and was rushed to the Gandhi hospital on Monday after he collapsed at his residence in Lalapet.

The Government of Telangana deeply mourns the demise of Sri Ande Sri, eminent poet and lyricist, who passed away today in Hyderabad.
