RUNNING SPRINGS, Calif. (KABC) -- Over a dozen people, mostly juveniles, were hurt after a bus overturned on the highway in Running Springs.

In total, 19 people were transported to the hospital with injuries, according to the San Bernardino County Fire Department and California Highway Patrol. Three of the patients had severe injuries, and the rest were minor injuries.

It's believed that about 36 adults and teens were on the bus.

The crash happened on Highway 330 just before 9 p.m. on Sunday. The highway was closed in both directions as crews investigated the scene.

It's unknown when the highway will reopen. It's also not clear where the bus was headed or what happened to cause it to overturn.

The bus driver is not being investigated for DUI, according to CHP.
