A Melbourne mother has been “completely let down” by Victoria’s criminal justice system less than three months after she narrowly escaped an attempted carjacking while her toddler was in the vehicle.

Tasha Lazaridis voiced her disgust on Monday after learning prosecutors had dropped all charges against a 13-year-old repeat offender allegedly involved in the incident on the grounds he would not have been able to tell right from wrong.

Ms Lazaridis was exiting her car in the driveway of her Ashburton home on August 31 she spotted two masked teens approaching the vehicle.
