On Veterans Day, restaurants ranging from Applebee’s to Olive Garden will offer free meals to those who volunteered to serve in the armed forces.

But for Dan Misuraca, owner of Red White & Que Smokehouse on Route 22 in Green Brook, serving those who served the country isn’t a public relations ploy. It’s a mission.

Misuraca, a Marine Corps veteran who served four years, including time in Kuwait during the Gulf War, is always faithful to his brothers and sisters-in-arms at his restaurant on Veterans Day – and every day.

Red White & Que Smokehouse always gives a 20% discount to veterans and a 10% discount to first responders.

The restaurant also values hiring veterans, with three — including Misuraca — currently on staff. And two of his recent young employees just graduated from boot camp
