Former Boston Celtics sharpshooter Matt Ryan has signed with Dubai Basketball, per Donatas Urbonas. Ryan spent part of the 2021-22 season with the Celtics, suiting up for one regular-season game, scoring three points and registering a steal.
Since leaving the Celtics, Ryan has spent time with the Los Angeles Lakers, Minnesota Timberwolves, New Orleans Pelicans and most recently, the New York Knicks. He’s made a total of 82 appearances during his four years in the league, producing 3.7 points per game on 40.2% shooting from deep.
Ryan was part of the Knicks’ preseason preparations, but found himself being waived before the start of the new season. A move to Dubai Basketball will provide him with the playing time he’s looking for. He will be among the most talented players in the league.
