The Delhi High Court on Monday said it will consider on January 28 the National Investigation Agency’s (NIA) request to conduct in-camera proceedings in its plea seeking the death penalty for Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Yasin Malik in a terror funding case.
A bench of Justices Vivek Chaudhary and Manoj Jain said, “We will consider. List on January 28,” after NIA counsel Akshai Malik sought a separate video link not accessible to the public for the hearing.
The agency has challenged the May 24, 2022, order of the trial court which sentenced Malik to life imprisonment for offences under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
