NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The North Vernon Police Department (NVPD) arrested a local man who allegedly assaulted officers while acting erratically on Sunday, November 9.
NVPD Officers responded to the 100 block of Jennings Street regarding a report of a male acting erratically.
Officers made contact with a male matching the description provided by the complaint. During the encounter, the male removed his shirt and attempted to challenge officers to a fight. The subject ignored multiple lawful commands and struck one of the officers with a flower pot. Officers were able to quickly gain control of the combative male and place him in handcuffs without further injury.
