Students protested at Tezpur University on November 9, voicing strong opposition to 'discriminatory hostel timings' enforced within the closed campus.

The demonstration, primarily led by female students, saw participants rallying across the university premises, demanding equal rights and dignity for all genders. Students questioned the rationale behind restrictive hostel entry rules, terming them outdated and patriarchal.

Protesters deliberately stayed out of their hostels beyond the prescribed in-time as a symbolic act of resistance, urging the university administration to revoke what they viewed as regressive and gender-biased curfews.
