The storied Saint John’s football program showed St. Scholastica more than a few things but the Saints didn’t come out of Saturday’s 70-21 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup without a few high points.
For one, CSS’s 21 points were the most any team has scored on the 10th-ranked Johnnies all season, albeit they all came in the second half when the hosts were up 49-0.
Donald West threw touchdown passes to Andrew Burgess, Teagen Lubinski and Nathan Behrens as the Saints outscored the Johnnies 14-7 in the third quarter and added another touchdown in the first minute of the fourth.
West was 15-for-33 passing for 165 yards. He was also CSS’s leading rusher on a tough day to move the ball on the ground. The Johnnies outgained the Saints 550-228 and 177-63 rushing.
